Cozy Nursery System Keeping Nursery Tank Clean
A Practical and Proven Solution.
We believe in a clean environment including active Nitrifying bacteria production, for the PL’s in the Cozy system where we keep the fry production tank clean for big and small organic particles.
What are we making:
We produce Reliable down to earth and affordable systems that is tested and modified until it works on our own farm in the Mekong Delta, using our own experience and production results and the latest RAS water treatment technology where applicable. Our concept is aimed and developed for Asia Shrimp farming but works fine for large scale fish and shrimp Sp. worldwide.
We have developed and tested the following systems on our own farm and manufacture all the equipment in our own workshop near Soc Trang.
Cozy nursery tank.
New concept for cozy nursery tank for PL’s larvae, making it possible to keep our 50m3 tank clean and disease free.
The cozy system consists of 3 tank systems.
1. A tank of 50m3 (optional) for rearing the shrimp PL’s
2. The screen filtration tank where live shrimp PL’s can pass and return to the rearing tank but particles are settled.
3. The third tank is designed to produce Nitrifying bacteria in a clean, clear water culture that is to be dosed daily to nursery rearing tank and/or to grow-out tank
It is believed that spores (the microsporidian) is everywhere now, it can come from broodstock, live feed (polychaetas, bivalves and artemia) for broodstock, PL, water source and even from shrimp feed, feed ingredients and it is difficult to get rid of them completely so what we could do is to reduce stress for shrimp as much as possible, especially in rainy season. It is obvious there is more infection, disease in rainy season than sunny season, the difference here is stress.
The benefit is that
• Smaller tank size allows to cover from rain, wind and allow control of water temperature
• Rear PL in optimized water quality to bigger size (0.2 gram – 0.6 gram)
• Allow control of NO2 by using water from Nitrifying Bacteria Production Tank (NBP)
